Financial Support

The support that the Delaware Veterans Home has received from the community has been tremendous! We thank you!

Direct Donations – Currently we have several programs available that financially benefit DVH while allowing you to honor a veteran. They are:

  • Donation Tree – The donation tree is comprised of engraved bronze, silver and gold leaves denoting a graduating level of financial contribution. The leaves capture a brief message given in memory or in honor of a veteran or from a donating organization.
  • Memorial Brick Fund – The memorial bricks are available in 4×8 or 8×8 sizes and allow you to make a lasting impression at the Home. Follow the instructions and fill out the order form.
  • Through your DE State personal tax return.

The funds garnered through these programs are placed in the DVH donations fund, which directly supports our residents’ needs. If you would like to make a donation, please download and complete the Donation Agreement Form. Specifics regarding the Donation Tree and Memorial Brick Fund may be requested by calling the Delaware Veterans Home. In order to best meet the needs of our residents, we strongly recommend monetary donations. This gives the Home the greatest flexibility to make sure your donation goes directly to the needs of our veterans. If you wish to make a material contribution, we do ask that you or your organization select an item from the Approved Donations List. All direct donations are considered tax deductible on your federal tax return as defined in US Code, Title 26, and on your State tax return as defined in Delaware Code, Title 30.

Gift Shop – All proceeds from the gift shop go directly back to supporting the veterans who live at the Delaware Veterans Home through various efforts and initiatives.

Friends of the Delaware Veterans Home – The Friends of the Delaware Veterans Home is an independent 501(c) 3 non-profit organization that raises funds primarily to support larger projects. The Friends have made projects like the building of our outdoor pavilion and fishing pier a reality. You can donate to the Friends of Delaware Veterans Home through the Donate text below.
