Upon a background check, our facility offers training to volunteers. We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities in the following support areas:

• Creative Arts
• Visiting
• Reading
• Entertainment/Music
• Special Event Helper
• Gardening
• Clerical Support

Honor a Veteran

• Donation Tree
  • Comprised of engraved bronze, silver and gold leaves denoting a graduating level of financial contribution. The leaves capture a brief message given in memory or in honor of a veteran or from a donating organization.
• Memorial Brick Fund Program
  • Offers a meaningful way to honor a military service member with a personalized engraved brick. This brick will be proudly displayed among the flags at the Delaware Veterans Home, serving as a lasting tribute. To participate, please print and complete the order form with your custom message and return it to the Delaware Veterans Home.

Your generous donation not only commemorates a hero but also enhances the quality of life for our residents, providing them with the care and amenities they deserve.

If you would like to make a donation, please download and complete the Donation Agreement Form. In order to best meet the needs of our residents, we strongly recommend monetary donations.

This gives the Home the greatest flexibility to make sure your donation goes directly to the needs of our veterans.

All direct donations are considered tax-deductible on your federal tax return as defined in US Code, Title 26, and on your State tax return as defined in Delaware Code, Title 30.

Friends of the Delaware Veterans Home

The Friends of the Delaware Veterans Home is an independent 501(c) 3 non-profit organization that raises funds primarily to support larger projects. The Friends have made projects like the building of our outdoor pavilion and fishing pier a reality.
